San Carlos Community Mourns 14-Year-Old Angelina Cielo Santillan Coronel After Navajo Road Crash On May 3, 2026
Angelina Cielo Santillan Coronel, 14, lost their life late Sunday morning, May 3, 2026, after a Mazda sedan left Navajo Road near Golfcrest Drive in San Carlos and struck a tree in the center median.
Angelina rode in the rear seat when the westbound car moved onto the sidewalk, struck an 18-year-old pedestrian, and continued into the median.
Emergency responders arrived quickly, but Angelina was pronounced gone at the scene.
Authorities reported that a 35-year-old driver, believed to be Angelina’s mother, sustained a fractured ankle and went to the hospital.
Two young boys, ages 1 and 8, also rode in the vehicle and did not sustain serious harm.
The 18-year-old pedestrian received hospital care for a concussion and arm injury and was expected to recover.
Family members remembered Angelina as their “sunshine,” and memorial service details will be announced later by the family.
