Jonathan Tiersten, Cult Film Performer And Musician, Remembered After Passing At 60 In New Jersey

Jonathan Tiersten, known to many fans for playing Ricky Thomas in Sleepaway Camp, has passed away at 60 at their home in New Jersey.

Born in 1965, Tiersten built a lasting place in 1980s horror cinema and later returned to the franchise through Return to Sleepaway Camp and Sleepaway Camp IV: The Survivor.

Tiersten also worked as a singer and songwriter, continuing a creative life that included music, convention appearances, and independent film projects such as Terror Tales and Time’s Up.

A brother confirmed the news, while medical authorities have not yet determined the official cause and continue their review.

Fans, colleagues, and loved ones have shared tributes, remembering Tiersten as approachable, kind, and deeply appreciative of the community that followed their work for decades.
