Columbus Mourns Kaitlyn Spahr, 32, Senior Attorney Lost After Wrong-Way State Route 315 Crash Near King Avenue
Columbus, Ohio, mourns Kaitlyn Spahr, a 32-year-old senior attorney with the Columbus City Attorney’s Office, who died after a wrong-way crash on State Route 315 late Monday night, May 4, 2026.
The crash happened near the King Avenue exit around 10:15 p.m. and involved a black 2018 Mercedes-Benz and a white Mercedes-Benz.
Spahr was a passenger in the black vehicle when the white vehicle entered the northbound lanes in the wrong direction.
Emergency responders took Spahr for urgent medical care, and officials pronounced Spahr dead at 10:51 p.m.
Authorities identified 30-year-old Xiaoke Fan in connection with the sequence of events before the crash, and the investigation remains ongoing.
Spahr joined the Columbus City Attorney’s Office in February 2022 and served the city with professionalism, dedication, and a steady commitment to public work.
