Julia Marie Vista and Jon Alec Ramos organized the fundraiser on behalf of Matt Santos, with Matt Laris Santos sharing that McKenzie was a beloved younger sibling and cherished child.
The fundraiser has raised $1,485 toward an $8,000 goal through 27 donations, with support intended for funeral costs and family needs.
The family noted a May 13 deadline for funeral expenses, while additional support will go directly to relatives during this difficult time.
A celebration of life is planned for May 16, which would have marked McKenzie’s 21st birthday, and a second service is planned for May 19.
Loved ones remembered McKenzie as youthful, energetic, ambitious, and devoted to the things that brought meaning and joy.
